First Map Of Global Forest Heights Created From NASA Data

David Conrad's television credits include starring roles on "Ghost Whisperer", "Relativity" and "Miss Match."

Among his feature film credits are "Men of Honor," "Return to Paradise," "The Weekend" and "Anything Else."

Conrad has appeared on Broadway in "The Deep Blue Sea" and "Indian Ink," as well as off-Broadway in "Troilus and Cressida" and "Richard II." He has also appeared in "Arcadia" and "Three Days of Rain."

Conrad studied at Brown University and Julliard. He currently lives in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. His birth date is August 17.

On July 17, 1975, Cold War rivals America and the Soviet Union met in Earth orbit as American Apollo astronauts Tom Stafford, Vance Brand and Deke Slayton docked with Soviet Soyuz cosmonauts Aleksey Leonov and Valeriy Kubasov. During their joint mission, the astronauts and cosmonauts assembled this commemorative plaque in orbit as a symbol of the international cooperation. Mars rover Curiosity, the centerpiece of NASA's Mars Science Laboratory mission, is coming together for extensive testing prior to its late 2011 launch. This image taken June 29, 2010, shows the rover with the mobility system -- wheels and suspension -- in place after installation on June 28 and 29. Spacecraft engineers and technicians are assembling and testing the rover in a large cleanroom at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory, Pasadena, Calif. Curiosity's six-wheel mobility system, with a rocker-bogie suspension system, resembles the systems on earlier, smaller Mars rovers, but for Curiosity, the wheels will also serve as landing gear.
