OK we want to know what you all recommend for Sci Fi shows to watch, and why. So tell us.

For me I would say watch Babylon 5 for series in the old category. It's a great series alway round.

And I would say the up coming show The Dresden Files for new show. :D

Also Smallville these days, it's really picked up with new super heroes and the story line are great. :batman:

NuBSG is the only sci-fi show that's currently on the air for the first time.

Star trek: Enterprise. NuBSG. Even though they're kids shows I still have a soft spot for beast wars and reboot.

Star Trek and the new Doctor Who (haven't seen the old, so I can't recommend it ;)). That's about it. I'm actually not really a big sci-fi fan. ;)

Old:
Babylon 5
Crusade
Star Trek (original series)

For the humor:
Red Dwarf
Special Unit 2

Honorable Mention:
Threshold
Firefly
Farscape

New:
Stargate SG-1 - ...though I haven't seen Season 10 yet. I'm watching on DVD.
Stargate Atlantis - catching up with this show via Netflix. Just finished disc 4 of Season 1.
Battlestar Galactica (2003+) - ...though I haven't seen Season 3 yet. I'm watching on DVD.

Fiona: Get out.
Eddie: Out of the kitchen?
Fiona: Out of the kitchen, out of the flat, out of London, out of the world. It's full. Get out.
Eddie: I can't get out of the world. I didn't pull the kind of math grades you need to qualify for the space program.

"Brimstone" (1998)
Angel: Oh, there's one more thing you should know. Your fate was never determined until you killed Gilbert Jax. All in all, you've led a good life, Ezekiel. Have faith. Your work's appreciated.

I would recommend The Adventures of Brisco County Jr.
It's a western/sci-fi show with a dash of comedy to it. Unfortunately it only lasted one season before it was dropped but it was such a great show to watch. It starred Bruce Campbell so you know it was good. :P

I would like to add Space 1999 to the list. It's a fun British sci-fi show from the 70s that lasted two seasons. Personally I think the fist season was the better one. :)
I've noticed that moon base Alpha looks just like the Clavius moon base from the 2001 movie. In fact a lot of the sets looked heavily influenced by 2001. :)

Ah.. I remember, just out of the blue, seeing the first season of that, at something like 2am on Sky One. Just random, but I got addicted and was dissappointed when they stopped showing it.

I also second the motion for Red Dwarf, excellent series that I have been meaning to grab on DVD.

As far as old shows, I recommend TOS. For new shows, I like StarGate Atlantis. Both i like for the same reason- the sense of adventure inherent in both is remarkable.

I'm watching a LOT of the new shows. But my faves are Chuck, Reaper, and Bionic Woman. They are really really good so far. And Pushing Daisies is fun, but I'm just not sure it's going to find an audience. I can't wait for Eureka! to start back up, too.
Waiting for Shane :-)
